2025/2026 Season info
#1 Registration Update 4/9 Majors and Sunset past full, can call to get on wait list. Seniors with maybe a couple spots. Call or text for registration info: Rob @ 417-351-9303 #2 Team Practices After the draft, coaches will call players with their team placement. Players can then refer to the Spring Schedule for practice times and also look forward at the Regular Season schedule. #3 Field updates/Batting Cages Cages at Optimist are back up and running thanks to new mid-week users. You will notice practice schedule is up for when you find out your teams. #4 20th Anniversary Season!!! 2016 will be the 20th Summer league for Metro baseball and we hope to have our best year yet including some sort of special events to commemorate our anniversary year. #5 Uniforms Uniforms should be distributed at practices in early May. Players are responsible for supplying their own pants. Here are pant colors to be worn by each team in the Majors & Seniors. Sunset players can each wear gray or white for any team. GRAY PANTS: NAPS, DOVES, PADRES, BROWNS, PHILLIES WHITE PANTS:HIGHLANDERS, CUBS, GIANTS, BLUEJAYS, TWINS, & SUPERBAS. BLACK PANTS: SENATORS. #6 Leo Cloutier Contest We are doing another year of the sportswriting contest and are featuring baseball writer, Leo Cloutier this year. Two contestants already in and looking for 3 or 4 more. Open to players or their siblings. #7 Wood Bats for sale Have in around two dozen bats already that will be available for sale at the park this spring for $40 to $65. Remember the league supplies bats so you don’t have to buy one. #8 Field Prep Thanks to Coach Smith & Blake Cowan we are hoping to continue to maintain and improve the condition of the Optimist fields and will also use Barnhouse as part of the Summer & Fall season. #8 The Sounds of 2026 The Seniors head to new wave music of the 80’s, the Sunset to Depression era hits of the 30’s, and the Majors back to some of the earliest recorded music ever from 1900-1909. #9 Virdon Retro Fantasy League World Series time, see the VRFL pages for finish and think about owning a team next year!
