*Will post info on our 2026 Honorary Commissioners as we head towards Spring.
2025 Honorary Commissioners!!
After a one year diversion honoring the passing of some former coaches in the league, we will resume our normal habit of honoring great Hall of Fame players directly or through the cooperation of their families.
#1: From Nevada, Mr. Tom Stevens,
Grandson of Babe Ruth
#2 From Colorado, Mr. Matt Lazzeri,
Grandson of Tony Lazzeri

Ruth and Lazzeri were teammates on the great Yankee teams of the late 1920’s and early 1930’s.
Ruth still holds many records. His career OPS and Slugging Pct. still lead major league baseball. His 60 home runs in 1927 and 714 career homers stood as records for over three decades. Ruth owns a career .342 batting average and played in 10 World Series. He still ranks in the top ten all time in runs, homers, rbis, and on base pct. Oh yeah, he also won 94 games pitching and lost only 46 while posting a career 2.28 ERA. He also posted 4444 putouts in the outfield in his career.
Lazzeri played 2B, SS, & 3B for the great Yankee teams of the late 1920’s through late 1930’s. Lazzeri won 5 World Series. He still holds the AL record with 11 rbis in one game. Lazzeri knocked in over 100 runs in a season 7x. He ranked in the top 5 in MVP voting in both 1928 & 1929 and was a member of the first AL All-star team. In 1925 for the Salt Lake Bees in the Pacific Coast league, Lazzeri hit an incredible 60 home runs and had 222 RBIs while playing 197 games that year.
It is an incredible honor to have Mr. Stevens and Mr. Lazzeri serving as our commissioners this year. Both will be providing us letters about their grandfathers that will be posted at the ballparks this summer.
